Description:

The program will give students skills and knowledge in computer hardware, routers and electronic circuits needed to become a network specialist. Their functions could include installing CISCO routers, training others and integrating applications with computer systems. They will be prepared to work as a member of a team to analyze, setup, install, upgrade, maintain hardware systems, and troubleshoot networked computers. Students will also further develop customer service, interpersonal communications and teamwork skills through group work.

The curriculum for this program is continually modified to reflect current trends. Students should consult the current program outlines, published each semester, for the exact curriculum.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade12 Mathematics 
Applicants must have a secondary school diploma or have mature student status. Students need to have basic knowledge of computers and/or education in electrical or electronics or a similar field. The Grade 12 math required is Grade 12 Mathematics for Technology.
